measurment in fraction form

Perhaps a simple question, but I cant seem to figure out the answer...I have
a line (in Visio 2003) with a measure on it (for example the length is
7/8")...All I can get to show up is .875 (or some variation of the
precision)...Id like to be able to see the measurment in its fraction form
(rather than in its decimal equivalent), but Im unsure how...

As far as I know, Visio doesn't have the formatting option to do fractional
display of numbers.

As far as I know, Visio doesn't have the formatting option to do fractional
display of numbers.

The Controller Dimension shape in the Walls, Doors and Windows stencil
can do this, select Feet-Inch (1'-0") from the Units in the shape's
custom properties.
There are some nice formulae in the shape's User.Feet, User.Inc and
User.FeetInch cells to do the calculations.

Well, if you're going to screw up an answer, might as well do it big time.
My apologies to everyone!

Interesitng article by David Parker. I tried modifying the space shape,
such that the entry for area, as set in the Shapesheet > User-defined Cells
Sechtion > User.visFMAreaPrec > Prompt became this: ="# ##/## uu;0.0 uu;0.00
uu;0.000 uu;0.0000 uu" That gives you the choice of fraction or decimal
display of the area value. Thanks Al, David.
