Media in PowerPoint

Here is the issue: I have various clients that need media inserted into their
PowerPoint presentations. I have absolutely no control over CODECS installed
on the machines they will use or platforms on which their presentations will
be given. However, I deal with a clientele that require the highest quality
videos. The question, which I am sure many have asked, is what is the best
file format and CODEC for media files inserted into PowerPoint for the widest
application? In my experience I have found that a swf file delivers high
quality at a fairly small file size. But SWF’s present a number of problems
when embedded into PPT; especially when one considers that I create videos in
After Effects and 3D Studio Max. I do have access to Discreet Cleaner, so
choosing file formats and CODECs is not an issue. To reiterate, the issue is
quality and portability. Any suggestions would be most welcome.
By the way, I have downloaded the ubiquitous PFCMedia but have problems with
MPEG-2.

If your having problems with Mpeg-2 files drop me an email and I'll help
sort it out.

My best guess is you have a DVD decoder (Mpeg-2 codec) that is not
compatible with Windows or the Windows Media Encoder.
