I am new to web page and i just install the plug in for media player for the
front page 2003 that i have on my desktop. I went to edit page with frontpage
and the web site opened along with the media player add in but when i tried
to do an insert i received an error " You cant insert a media player unless a
web is opened" . The add in is there so i dont understand this error.

Thanks that did it. One more thing, i have a 75 meg mpg file on my desktop so
is it better to import this video file directly into the media folder or let
the add in do this function?

Thanks,

Many hosts will block publishing any files over 1 MB
- that is the default max file size set in the FP SE
So you may get publishing errors

If you really want to use a file that large
I would recommend importing it in a folder named say Media,
- creating your media player links,
- then converting the Media folder to a subweb
- that way you can Publish your web (w/o subwebs) and FTP the huge file separately to the Media folder

PS
I would warn all your users that the file is 75 MB

When you FTP only FTP the file and not any of the _vti folders or you'll
corrupt the FrontPage Server Extensions. Are you streaming the file or just
having the user click in on? For such a large file you're better off
streaming it.
