based on your criterion,
you would have to employ
a computer wizard and
an accountant or someone
with both attributes to build
the system you need from scratch.
most pre made accounting software
already employ templates
and a financial system that
would facilitate with billing, financial
reporting, client database, past
due accounts, etc....
one very very important aspect with
selecting an accounting software:
"Make absolutely positively sure
that it is fully compatible and
can be integrated with MSOFFICE"
this aspect of integration with OFFICE
will greatly expand the functionality of your
billing system whether you use
a cheap or expensive accounting
software.
if you find a software that has no
integration with office, skip it.
btw: doesn't Office Ultimate give
you a small version of an accounting
software? Maybe going full feature
might be a good consideration, but
you would have to research the market
place for what will suit the needs of
your business.
