Meeting Invitations not Working correctly

R

Richard Tubb

Hi,

Using MS Outlook 2002 SP3 I often send and receive invitations to meetings
from other Outlook users outside of my organisation.

One particular client using MS Outlook 2002 SP3 sends me invites (and
visa-versa) that reach my mailbox but never display the usual "Accept" or
"Decline" boxes... merely a message full of text.

If I cut'n'paste the relevant part of the message and save it as a .VCF
file, I can double click it and accept/decline the request as per normal.

Are there any obvious reasons as to why these invites are not being accepted
by Outlook when received in the normal manner?

Probably because the outside users are not forcing Rich Text Format when
sending outside of the same Exchange organization.

Hi Milly,

I didn't know that was a pre-requisite of using Calendar invitations?

At present I know that my Outlook is set to use Plain Text for outgoing
messages and the majority of users I send invites to still get them with the
"Accept/Decline" format? This one client in particular just gets them as
plain text though.

I should add that Exchange is not involved at any stage with either myself
or the other organisation. We both use .PST files.

Thanks for the suggestion though. Any other ideas?

Regards,

Richard Tubb.
