Meeting organizer changed without any user action!!!

Dear all,

Although I've seen this posted here, I saw no replies or comments and
therefore I must ask if anybody had this issue fixed or came accross some
sort of workaround (I've figures out that re-creating the meeting is a work
around, just not an acceptable one).

The people having this issue are using Outlook 2003, have been migrated to
exchange7. One of the users does have a pda, but the other, with the same
issue does not.
The issue is that a meeting was created, by the person's admin (user A), who
is not a delegate, and after the user B replied to it (made some sort of
change) he became the organizer.
Now, I saw posts explaining that it's not possible to change the meeting
organizer without re-creating the meeting, so how does this happens
automatically without userintervention?
Please do reply, and if no fix is available can you please try to explain
why the issue happens?

Many thanks in advance and looking forward to hear from someone,

Marco,

I have the same issue exactly and my Exchange Admin is helpless...
I'm with outlook 2007 and as one of the attendies from 2 different
organizers in 2 different meetings I became the organizer without the option
to decline - only send cancellations?!
I also didn't see any real solution over the internet for that issue!!!

hopefully microsoft's personnel can come with a solution to that very very
annoying issue.

Marco,

I found a solution to my situation, hopefully yours is the same:
I use in parallel to my outlook client a Nokia device with Mail-for-Exchange
application on it.
when i get a meeting as an attendee and change its details (any detail even
the name , location or alarm) and sync again with the exchange server, i
automatically becomes an attendee and an organizer.

from now on I'll stop changing anything on my phone to be sure...

Hi Oren,

First of all thanks for coming back with this info!
Funny enough I had asked the user if he used any devices to synchronize and
the reply was "no", so I've' placed that option aside (I've seen a post with
that same suggestion).
I will check for this in future similar issues (I came accross two more
since raising this question).

Many thanks and regards,
