Meeting request attempts to invite deleted Exchange user

I had a user in my company that had the same last name as another user
and she has left and no longer has an exchange account. Now when we
attempt to invite the user still here to a meeting we instead get a
message that states that it tried to invite the user that no longer has
an account (states that the user is not in the system). I can't for
the life of me figure out why it is trying to invite the old user since
I have verified we are selecting the existing user from the address
list. Any ideas why this is occurring? Thanks.
