Meeting request default calendar view

When I get a meeting request, there's a handy 'view in calendar'
button. This opens my calendar in a new window in day view.

What I'd like to do is have it open in week view by default instead
because I always need to know how one day's schedule will impact on
the next but I can't seem to find any clues on how to do this.

Many thanks for any help.

Not possible afaik - you will need to manually change it to a week view.

Kinda kills the point of setting a preference if Outlook is going to
override it on a whim. Anyone know if there might be a registry hack
for this?

On a related note, my default calendar view is week and when I open a meeting
request it defaults to day too. BUT when i view my calendar again it has now
changed to the day view too. Opening a meeting request changes my calendar
default from week to day. I can live with the meeting request opening in day
mode but can anyone tell me how to prevent it from changing my default
calendar view?
