Meeting Request editing in 2007

I will set up a meeting in my calendar and send it to someone initially. As
the meeting approached, I may modify the text area of the meeting with notes.
I may also move the meeting to another day. I would like to be able to do
this without an update being sent to the original person. The only choices I
am getting are to not save or to send an update. I would like to save but
NOT send an update. Is it possible?

Works fine if I just add details to the notes area but if I modify the
date/time it doesnt give me the option to update without sending.

Any other thoughts?

Why would you modify the time of an event and not want the others attending
to know?

Yes, I know it is a strange request. Perhaps there's a better way to handle
what I use it for. I initally create a meeting request and send details to
one person. THese are events that will happen in the very distant future -
6-8 months sometimes. They are not meetings but an approximate time someone
is expected back to work. Sometimes the date of that event is delayed and I
need to go in and change the date. I dont need to update the original
invitee, I only need it in my calendar. Ultimately, when the event is
definite for a date, I want to send a message to the original invitee to let
them know the event happened.

Create your event first as an appointment or meeting with no attendees.
Send it as an attachment to the other person via a mail message. They can
add it to their calendar if they wish. You can manipulate your appointment
any way you choose and the original recipient will not be notified because
they were never an attendee.

Uncheck the attendees from the Scheduling Assistant and it will save without
updates.
