Meeting Request Response Tracking Not Automatically Working

Situation: Using Outlook 2003, all emails to Inbox are moved to other
folders on receipt by Rules. Reading Pane is active, on bottom.

Problem: The "Accepted" and "Declined" responses are not being correctly
tracked on the Tracking tab of the Meeting Request in the Calendar until I
"click" on the item in the folder the item was moved to when received. After
I click on the item, and see it in the Preview Pane, the Meeting Request is
updated with the response.

Is there any other way to get Outlook to recognize the responses without the
manual intervention?
