Meeting Requests and Reminders

I handle my boss's calendar. He does not like reminders to appear on his
screen; however, I have to set up every meeting request WITH reminders so
that the attendees remember the meeting. What is the best way to set this up?
I am concerned that if I send out meeting requests with reminders, they will
appear on boss's calendar.
