meeting requests sent from xp to outlook 2000

When I send a meeting request from XP Outlook to users
with 2000 Outlook they do not receive the meeting
request. The email they receive looks like a breakdown of
the actual email code.
Is there some default or option that needs to be
set/changed?

Try removing the reminder from the meeting request before sending it,
and see if that helps. There's a known issue with sending iCalendar
format items from Outlook 2002 to Outlook 2000 when a reminder is set.
