Meeting updates not getting to invitees

I am having a problem with meeting updates and cancellations not getting to
the invitees from outside my office. The IT people in my office tell me they
have exhausted every option on their end so I turn to this group. For 2
specific recurring meetings on my calendar, when I send an update or
cancellation I receive a delay message about 7 hours after I send the update.
It gets to our internal people, but does not get to external. The
recipients are from several different companies. I am hoping someone can
offer some assistance. Thank you!
