Meetings added to Calendar whether accepted or not?

Wish I was using Lotus Notes

Why do meetings get added to people's calendar when they have not accepted or
declined them? They are not set up to add/decline automatically. Because
they get added to people's calendars automatically, they think they do not
have to accept or decline them!

Please help!

I would suggest you ask this question in an Outlook specific newsgroup
rather than a miscellaneous Office one.

Thanks JoAnn. I am new to this and thought I was in Outlook newsgroup.
