Meetings automatically become recurring

Using Outlook 2007 and Microsoft Office Small Business 2007. Using AVG free anti-virus software and Windows Defender for spyware.

If I open an existing meeting in the calendar and edit the location, time, etc. it appears fine. Once I click the 'Send Update' button the meeting changes to recurring automatically.

Has anyone encountered this 'bug'?
