Meetings not appearing in calendar unless opened first in inbox -.

My workmates and I are all missing important meetings because Outlook
suddenly stopped showing new meetings in our calendars as tentative.
New meetings now sit in our inboxes and never appear in our calendars unless
we read them in the inbox.
Is anyone else experiencing this??
Is there any way this can be resolved??
