Memory problems occurring

E

Erik Michael

When running Microsoft Word (with all necessary updates from Mactopia
Download page), when more than a few documents are open, occasionally
the program will not let you save a document. It claims that there isn't
enough memory available to save. This only started a few weeks ago (after
upgrading the OS to 10.3.3.) I read that there may be a conflict with the
10.3.3 operating system...

Just so you know, I have run disk utility, repaired permissions, installed all
updates, etc. The problem still persists...

Any ideas? Or do we just hope that Apple fixes this with 10.3.4 since it
seems that Microsoft is unaware of the issue...

Hi Erik,

Are you getting a "disk full" type of error? If so, Microsoft is definitely
*not* unaware of the issue. See here:
<http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/WordMac/DiskFullError.htm>

Are you trying to save to a server? Microsoft is aware of that as well.
This article is somewhat outdated but still valid, I believe:
<http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/WordMac/apple_os_10.htm>. I would hope that
either the new Apple OS and/or the upcoming Office 2004 helps eradicate this
problem.

If you're using Safari and have trouble opening these pages, switch to IE or
another browser.

Hope this helps.
