Menu item created w/ add-in removed due other add-in

Hi folks,

I created an add-in that adds a menu item to the Worksheet Menu Bar upon
starting Excel - no problem there. The problem is that when code in other
installed third party add-ins is triggered (part of which is to add a menu
item to the Worksheet Menu Bar) my custom menu item disappears.

Although I haven't tried it yet, I suppose creating an entirely new menu bar
at startup would be a workaround, but I would prefer to not do that. How
can I keep my custom menu item on the Worksheet Menu Bar regardless of the
actions of other add-ins?

TIA

I would bet anything you tried to protect yours would break the other addin.

If it's just for you, maybe you could load the workbooks in the opposite
order???

Or maybe assign a shortcut key to your code that adds your menu item. Then when
the item disappears, just rerun your macro via the shortcut keys.

I don't want to "break" the other add-in. The other add-in is
essential to another piece of software that integrates w/ Excel and
without its menu it's pretty much useless. I'm not sure how I would
load the workbooks in the opposite order since both add-ins run at
startup.

I think I'm going to try the route of creating a new menu bar at
startup to see if that works.

Thanks.
