Menus gone haywire and delayed text.

I'm not sure what the problem is but everytime I type a document in Excel, Word, Outlook. their is a delay between my typing and what is displayed on the screen, almost like it is indexing it or something. The other strange thing is that the menus dialog boxes go haywire. Particularly the edit menu dialog box starts displaying without me even selecting it. If I try to select it it gets very elusive.

The other strange thing is that when I change profiles in Windows XP Home the office programs works fine and I have no problems. All the other software programs works fine only Office. Any suggestions.

You haven't mentioned your Office version, but it sounds like you might have
Speech turned on. (Tools > Speech).
