Hi, I am using Office 2001.

For some odd reason, when I use Word, my menus just dont work... all except
the fonts menu.

I have to use hotkeys. This bugs me a whole lot...

Any ideas

(This is how I solved it for PC format, worth a try, as the fonts get
ruled by the printer driver)
I would say to update your printer drivers.
Sometimes this would only give system fonts, not the whole list.

Update the driver from the manufacturer's website.

Hi Carla:

Thanks for your help here. This is one of the few places where advice for
Word PC does not hold true in Word for Mac.

There is a long-standing bug in the way Word for "old Mac" operating systems
writes to the file system that causes it to repetitively trash its menus.

The problem does not seem to occur much on Word X, and never occurs in Word
2004. But in Word 2001 and before, as soon as you see the word "menus" in
the question, you send them off to the web page Daiya referred to: it's a
no-brainer and it happens every time :)

Hope to see you around here lots in the future.

Regards

John
