Menu's

Is there a way to change the drop down lists in Office so
that when you click file the entire list shows vs. having
to go to the bottom and hit the small arrow at the bottom
for the complete list to expand?

Tools | Customize, click the Options tab, and check the box for "Always
show full menus". Note, though, that if you have shrunk the Office
program window down enough on the screen, the full menus may not have
enough room to show, so you may get the shortened version anyway.

Interesting... although I can't seem to make that happen. On my end
the menus open outside the application window and the abbreviated
version doesn't display.

Can you provide some reproduction steps and the application you are
using? Thanks!

Hi Beth,

You're right, at least for Office 2002 -- I can't seem to make that
happen either. I do seem to remember it happening that way in Office
2000, because it used to annoy me -- unless I'm thinking of something
else altogether :) I don't have a copy of Office 2000 installed right
now to test it on. So I guess I'll retract that part of my previous
post.

Well...if I size a window just right the menus will scroll - could
that be it??

Possibly...although I usually turn off the personalized menus altogether
because they bug me ;-)
