merge a gif or jpg

Mark Stewart

Hello,

I have Office 2000 and need to see if 2003 can solve this
problem. I have a data set (currently in Access) that I'd
like to merge with a gif or jpg. The gif or jpg is
embedded in Access. I can create a mailmerge (workaround)
in Access to have a form look like a letter. However, I'd
prefer to use Word. When I merge the data in Word, the
embedded image doesn't get to Word. I just get the code
pasted in the merge field. This is the closest I can get.

I was wondering if Word 2003 now has the capability to
merge gif's or jpg's.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,

Not directly. If you have the path\\filename of the picture in the
database, you can put a mergefield with that information inside and
INCLUDEPICTURE field.

See the "Graphics from database" item under the "Special merges" section of
fellow MVP CIndy Meister's website at
http://homepage.swissonline.ch/cindymeister/MergFram.htm

Please post any further questions or followup to the newsgroups for the
benefit of others who may be interested. Unsolicited questions forwarded
directly to me will only be answered on a paid consulting basis.

Hope this helps
