merge access and word

Hello to anybody who can help;
I have a query (in access 2002) in the query are 3
fields, one for the date, one for the title, and one for
the word article- which is linked as an OLE object. In
the query I'm able to sort the word articles, but upable
to print in a report, as a report will only publish one
page of an ole field....so I'm trying to merge with
word. When I set up the mail merge and bring in the
merge fields, the date and article name are merged, but
the word document (ole field) is just a number. Is there
a way I can change the properities so word will publish
the word document. Sorry to sound so long
winded...obviously I'm pretty limited with my knowledge.
My goal is to print in order a variety of word documents
that vary in size. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Unfortunately there is not. You would have to export all the Word documents
anyway, e.g. using file names linked (somehow) to another field in your such
as a record ID, then use a nested { INCLUDETEXT } field in your merge. But
since you would require some Access VBA to export the documents, it would
probably be simpler to avoid mailmerge and write Access VBA that exported
each document in turn, then used Automation to make Word do whatever you
wanted (e.g. add some information to a cover page then print the document,
or whatever it is that you want to do).
