Merge contact into word template

While evaluating converting to this new BCM from ACT!, I spent six hours
trying to find how to send a letter template to a contact and finally have
arrived here. I simply CAN NOT believe that Microsoft does not have a main
ribbon button (3 click process) to fill in name and address in a letter
template! IT IS INEXCUSABLE in a document merge to contact piece of software
that one has to set up a marketing campaign to send a letter to a single
selected contact!

This is more outrageous than the joke of a check voucher provided in the new
"Quickbooks Killer" accounting program. Such little fundamental flaws ruin
the whole product and the Microsoft reputation or good will is further
damaged.

Get these little fundamentals fixed FAST before many people vote with their
feet. This are choke points that discourage people. Its bad enough the
program is so slow, but when the end result isn't well thought out, CU LATER!

I feel your pain Jimmy! It has been 4+ years of such BCM ineptness. Things
have been improving but MS improvements happen ever so sloooooooowly! I have
been in a front row seat bitching at this same circus for a long time now
myself and time just keeps on marching on.

All is not indifference among the vast Redmond Bureacracy however. Maybe
with version 4, ... or 5, ...sigh!

You can't do it directly from BCM - it has to be done from Word. In word on
the ribbon select Mailings and Start Mail Merge, pick the type you want -
letter etc. Now click Select Recipients and Select from Outlook Contacts,
your then given the choice of accounts, Business contacts, contacts,
accounts, business leads.

Selecting Busniess contacts then gives you a list of all the contacts you
have - pick the one(s) you want and then you can access the Write and Insert
Fields buttons - assuming you haven't created a template file first!!

Have a play and you should be able to sort it out.
