merge data crashes project

Hello,

I am merging a lot of data from excell into project. About 4000 rows of 12
fields.

Is there a way to do this other than splitting the file into smaler chunks?
I want to do it often.

It would help if you said which version of Project. Make sure you have the
latest service pack installed then try again.

it is v 2003. i have installed the latest service pack. it is still crashing

Can you please give us more information -- what are the 12 fields
you are attempting to merge? Are you merging actual data or
scheduled data? What happens if you attempt to merge 6 fields and
then the other 6 fields? How is the Excel data structured? What
are you using for the merge field?

The more details you give us, the better luck we'll have helping
you.
