merge error: "a field calculation error occurred in record..."

Every record that I try to merge from a 200-record table
produces this error message. If I run 3 or 4 at a time,
the error message comes up each time, but the results are
correct on the merged document. If I try to run more than
6 records at a time, however, the program freezes after
the first six errors come up. I've checked all of the
data and don't find anything obvious. There are no
formulas in any of the cells.

Which version of Word?

What's your data source?

Do you have any fields in the header/footer area? Are you
using any fields that are NOT Mergefields (press Alt+F9 to
see all the field codes)?

What's your data source?
