Merge Excel Data Base to Word Template

Using Office 2003. The merge does not recognize the column Headings in
Excel. I am creating a directory. I have done others and cannot figure out
what is wrong.

1. Are the column headings in regular Excel cells?

2. Does every column have a heading?

3. Are the headings in row 1 of the sheet? (perhaps you hid row 1 and there
is nothing in it?
