Merge field returns julian date not gregorian

I am having problems with merging a word document with an
excel database. The date in excel is fine. When it
merges into word, it appears as Julian. It only does it
on one document. Others attached to the same database
are fine. Any clue how to resolve this?

Thanks for any ideas.

I don't know why this doc works differently than others,
but you could try adding a date-time picture switch to
the merge field (Toggle Field code and add \@ + the
format you want to the date mergefield). It's also
possible that the doc that doesn't work already has the
picture switch and you just need to remove it.

Can you be more specific about what you understand by "Julian" and
"Gregorian" ? I tend to think of them as two separate calendars which are
now a number of days adrift, but maybe by "Julian" you mean "a whole number"
and "Gregorian" you mean MM/DD/YYYY style dates.

If you are getting "whole numbers" in Word, you probably need to change the
format of your column in Excel.
