Merge fiels disappear in header / footer

From many years I know how to merge a DBF file with a Word document.

To make sure, I used a FOX2X table with columns char of memo.

Recently I needed to put some merge fields in the header or th
footer.

In "design time" in Word, all is OK but programatically from Visua
FoxPro 7/8 it does not work.

I can see all the merge fields in the body of the Word (XP and 2003
document but not in the header and / or the footer.

I tried other data sources like Excel or .ODC file (Office Databas
Connection used to wrap à ODBC Foxpro files) but I have always the sam
trouble.

Hi Analyste,

You're trying to insert merge fields into the header/footer of a Word
document by automating Word? And you can't insert them? Or you just
can't see them?

Are you sure "White space between pages" is activated in
Tools/Options/View?
