Merge OL200 W/ WORD 97

Hello...
I posted this question in outlook..NO REPLY maybe here I can get an answer..

I am in OL 2000 and want to perform a merge with Word 97 Using my contacts
from OL ..

Is this possible or futile??
I have not upgraded word to 2000 aren't the two compatible?

If need be, where is the best place to get Word 2000
Any help appreciated

I don't know for this particular combination, but...

Are you selecing a contacts folder in OL and using OL's Tools|Mail merge
menu option to start the merge? If it fails, a possibility is that OL is
trying to automate Word using commands that do not exist or work differently
in Word 97?

Or are you trying to select the data source using Word's mail merge helper?
