merge problem

i'm encountering a problem when I want to import data from a word
table into a merge document.
I get and error "unable to open data source"

I'm using Office 10.1.5
OS 10.3.4
The files are on a file server

I have a suspicion this might be a permissions problem.
However i really dont know.

Any help much appreciated

Are you able to open the Data Source by itself, by going "File | Open..."
and then selecting the file in the Open Dialog?
