Merge Template Showing As Last Document

Hey guys, I'm using Windows XP, Office 200 SP-1. I'm trying to get used to
XP (coming from 98) and I'm finding some tough spots.

One for example, is I set up my merge document and the data source, merged a
test file and didn't save it, but rather saved the merge/ data files. Now
when I open the merge file, my test file comes up as the merge file.

How do I get my actual merge file with the merge fields back and what did I
do to cause this?

I opened it this morning and tried to merge directly from the merge file
(old merge name, new merge test info), just to see if I could, and I
selected a different list and it gave me back my original merge field
document. Not sure what happened, but it's working now. Thanks for your
help anyways!
