Merge to E-Mail using HTML

I am using Windows XP, Office XP, Word 2002, & Outlook Express 6
Using mail merge (step 6) when I select electronic mail, I have 3 options for "mail format"
"Plain text" and "attachment" both work fine
HTML does not work. When I choose this option and select OK the popup box closes but nothing else happens
How do I send HTML e-mails
Outlook express "mail sending format" is selected to HTML

Merging using HTML format only works with the full Outlook as far as I know.

2003. I have the same problem so the reason of needing a
full version may not be accurate.

I'm getting pretty frustrated by this as well. We have
two machines in our office that are both using Windows
XP, Word 2002, and one uses Outlook 2000, the other
Outlook Express 6. Neither works when you select Mail
Merge to Email using HTML. Nothing happens at all. No
error message or anything. Mail merge to email in plain
text or an attachment works sweet. I have tried all the
latest service patches for Outlook, Word and Office from
Microsofts site and I'm stumped!!! And I really need this
to work for my clients. Obviously it works for some
people... I just don't know how.

Has anyone got any clues???

Hi Iain,

I recommend you ask this in an OUTLOOK newsgroup, as they
usually have a much better grasp of why things related to
Outlook don't work.

I bought Worldmerge from ColoradoSoft. It works great to mail merge HTML.

I also was having a lot of problems doing a mail merge to
an html email but I have found that it doesn't work if
you have different version of word and outlook. For
example, I tried:

Word 2002 with Outlook 2000 - didn't work
Word 2002 with Outlook 2003 - didn't work.
Word 2002 with Outlook 2002 - did work!
Word 2003 with Outlook 2003 - did work!

Don't ask me why but at least it is going if you use the
same version.
