Merge to fax windows xp - word 2003

I am trying to "merge to fax", but it is ghosted.
I have activate the Microsoft Fax and Outlook MAPI services but not luck,
maybe the settings are wrong.
Please advise.

There is more than one way to skin a cat; although I have personally never
skinned a cat before though. There is fax software that you can utilize, but
for the most part they need a fax modem, which are very inexpensive, and if
you are using a printer that also faxes, you could send it that way also. So
I would merge to a new document and then fax or e-mail that merged document.

Check the google archive for this newsgroup. This issue has been researched
by Peter Jamieson and reproduced here. Unfortunately I am in the throes of
relocating at the moment and havce access only via a slow and unreliable
dial-up connection at present or I would have looked up the reference for
you.
