Merge w/Excel - Too many decimals

G

Greg

When I merge a decimal field into my Word document, a
number like 24.9 in the spreadsheet prints out as
24.900000000000 in my Word document. I've tried using the
ROUND and TRUNC function in my Excel spreadsheet, but the
merged field continues to print all the extra decimal
places.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

-Greg

Hi Greg,

In the mailmerge main document, use Alt+F9 to toggle on the field codes and
inside the closing } of the mergefield, enter the following numeric picture
switch:

\# "#.00"

Please post any further questions or followup to the newsgroups for the

Hope this helps

Try using a numeric formatting switch such as \#"0.00" in the appropriate
MERGEFIELD in your document (e.g. use Alt-F9 to display the merge fields,
then change

{ MERGEFIELD myfield }

to

{ MERGEFIELD myfield \#"0.00" }

The switches are documented in Word Help.
