Merge + Word Fields + Split

Is it possible to create a merge template with Insert Word fields embedded in
it?

Upon merging the template with the data, the prompts for the Insert Words
come up. The problem is I want the prompt to come up after the documents
have been merged, separated, and saved. Is there a way to do this aside from
handling each separately?

(I have managed to get a macro working for the separation part.)

It isn't completely clear what you are trying to do, but I think it is:
a. you merge to multiple new documents, one for each recipient
b. when the recipient opens the document, you want a pop-up to appear so
they can enter some data. (e.g. perhaps you want it to work like a FILLIN or
ASK field).

If that is not correct, please can you try to spell out what you are trying
to do.

If that is correct, nothing that you generate using MailMerge is going to
work, because MailMerge tries to "resolve" every merge field so that fields
such as ASK and FILLIN do not survive the merge. I can think of a way to do
this, but it would require some VBA that I haven't got to hand.
