Merged cell headache. Please help!

Hey, just started new job. How do I paste data on work sheet with merged
cells without affecting formulas on other worksheets? The merged cells have
line breaks and I want to drop down the line breaks so that I can paste data.

Normal recommendation is replace the merged cells as they cause nothing
but one headache after another.
