merged data - Access to Word

Tresillian

Can you please advise me how to show the percentage as 100% or 97% in merged
data field in Word? The field data from Access shows 1 or 0.969999993 and I
cannot create the switch to format those to 100% or 97%.

Hi, Tresillian,

Since Word is basically for word processing (and not number processing), I
suspect it would be best to perform this rounding in Access somehow, either
in the original field or a calculated field that rounds your original field,
then merge the data into Word.

You could probably do this with some additional scripting / automation, but
I suspect it would be easier to work within Access than to learn VBA.

I am sorry, this is not an answer to your question. I was trying to start a
new thread. I had to get a new laptopl There is no word processing on it.
I had XP and it came with Office Works. I am a fulltime substitute teacher
and really need it. Someone spoke of easyofficesuite, openoffice, and
ABIWord. These are all free downloads. Can someone recommend one over the
others? Thank you.

Hint, this is a Microsoft Office newsgroup. Go load the freebie, and
pick what YOU like, BUT you could use the Word processor that you
already have in Office Works.

Hi Susan

I have found the solution from the gmayor.com website. The switch shows
there is {={MERGEFIELD Amount}*100\#"0%"}. I did try to put the equation
myself but it wasn't the right one, I guess. It's also not "0%" but "00%" to
show the correct figure.

Thanks.
