Merged data spell check

Can I spell check the data pulled into a merged document? Even when I
obviously misspell words and then run spell check on the merged document, it
doesn't recognize the misspellings. We will be producing many merged
documents and it will be difficult to proofread every single document.

Try spellchecking your source document. (the data)

I believe that merge fields are set to not check spelling by default. This
isn't surprising since much of the information that I usually put into merge
fields is proper names or place names that would, when correctly spelled,
trigger a spelling error in Word. You can select the field and change this
setting using Tools > Language > Set Language (Word 2003).

You'll find an approach in the Mail merge FAQ on my website, that involves
nesting the mergefields in QUOTE fields so that the language formatting is
retained.

Your other choice is to Ctrl+A in the merge result, then go to
Tools/Language/Set language and deactivate the "Do not check spelling or
grammar" checkbox.
