Merges

I keep getting an error message when trying to do my merge from excel.
"Unable to open data source from Word". What is wrong and why won't it open.


I can open the excel worksheet and have no problem - everything looks okay
but for some reason it will not open in word.

Check excel to see if has ignore other applications checked in the
tools-->options-->
general settings section. If it does, uncheck it. Also do you have confirm
file conversion checked in the general settings (tools--options)for Word?
