Merging an Excel Document

I have a price list in Excel that I use for calculating our retail prices. I have built a mail merge document that imports my excel numbers to create price tags. Everything works except that the numbers that are brought over seem to have several trailing zeros and other odd digits (3.8800000029 should be 3.89). Any ideas?
