merging calendar entries

Trying to help a long distance friend. They have XP and Outlook which they
keep up to date. Trying to figure out how to merge calendar entries. The
"boss" has a laptop and palm pilot. They could get a second craddle for the
palm pilot so they can synch it to both the secretary's and the boss'
computers. I think that part should be no problem. But if both the boss and
the secretary make calendar entries, then they need to merge them, how does
that part work?
