Merging... can't handle empty fields?

It seems that if I have a .csv that I am trying to merge from with empty
fields, that word stops and can't merge any more?

What's up with this? If anyone is willing, I can send sample files to
look at.

A csv file? Can you import it into Excel? Maybe it's easier to first import
into Excel and then to Word.

It easily imports into excel. However if merge from an excel file, it
takes forever for it to "convert" the excel file.

Merging from the csv is lightning fast except for this problem.

I forgot to mention that it works more easily cross-platform. :)

Turns out that Word has a problem if the LAST field is empty. A record
with a trailing comma dies.
