Merging Cells in Word

The Office XP wizard tells me that I can merge cells in
Word just by selecting that option under Tables, but I find
no such option there. In my old computer, with a previous
version of Word, there was a Merge Cells option under
Tables, but I don't see it here. Any ideas?
