I'm typing a book for someone and have been doing it by
the chapter and saving each individual chapter. They
prefer to have one document with all the chapters
together. Of course, when I try to put these together,
the headers and footers and page numbers all get mixed
up. For instance, when I merge chpt. 1 and chpt. 2, chpt.
1 looks like it should. Chpt. 2 margin changes because
it tries to put a header there, but it should not have a
header but a footer - the header should begin on the
second page of chpt. 2. (when I do headers and footers,
you know you can say "first page different" but there
doesn't seem to be a way to make "page 22 different.") Is
there a way to "lock" the info for each chapter so that
headers, footers, page numbers do not change when I merge
them together? Or is there an easier way to do this that
I am just totally missing? Thanks for any help!!
