Merging details from two schedules

Hi There - I have 40 lines of historical vendor info. to merge into my
current vendors WBS. How can I merge the data with the dates when my plan
wants to shift the dates into the future.

Looking for an easy way if I cut and paste.

Thanks very much, Heather

What you are seeing is differences between the start dates of the two projects.
Try this (since it is only a portion of the schedule you want to copy over)

set a milestone in the "old" schedule for a specific date. Claim the
milestone as 100% complete. Link this milestone to the approrpiate tasks in
your old schedule.
Copy and paste all this over.

Hi Heather

I agree with Jim, you should add a milestone as explained by him. But, if
your project has not yet started and you don't want to show the milestone as
100% complete, you may also assign a constraint of 'Must start on' with a
specific date to fix a date for this milestone.

I hope it helps.

Hi Vanita: Thank you so much for your reply. I got the solution using Jim's
method. However, before starting that I was going into each task as I copied
it over and doing a Must Start On and it was working but very labor
intensive. A good work around for just a few but both of your suggestions to
put a task at 100% gave me the short cut I needed to add in 80 lines without
the grief. Every grateful, Heather
