Merging files

G

Ger

Hi all,
Merging files seems to me "concatenating" files, cause I have tested it with
poor results.

I expected that a formtemplate, containing a field (eg projectnumber) and a
field (eg Hours) was filled in by salesman A: Projectnumber X02 20 hours and
the same formtemplate filled in by salesman B: Projectnumber X02 3 hours will
be in the resulting form: Projectnumber X02 23 hours.
The resulting form shows me Project X02 20 hours and Project X02 3 hours.

How can I get the right result ? And then I mean 1 sentence with Project X02
and 23 hours ?

Ger.

Hi,

If the built-in merge functionality does not provide the desired result you
would then need to create/modify the transform to produce the data in the
format you desire.

Take a look at the following training lab as it will give you an overview
of "advanced form merging:"

Lab 11: Customizing Merge Forms in InfoPath 2003
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/odc_ip2003_
tr/html/odc_INF_Lab11.asp

I hope this helps!
