Merging folders or entire notebooks

Hi. I came across a useful add-in that merges pages but what I really need is
something that will allow me to merge two entire notebooks and, ideally,
remove duplicates.

Is there an easy way to do this?

Merging can be done easily via Windows Explorer. If you navigate to the
locations of the two Sections you want to merge, you can then just drag and
drop the individual *.ONE files back and forth, or drag the desired files
into a third folder, and then right-click/"Open as Notebook in OneNote" to
open that merged folder as a Notebook. You need to close the now-empty
Notebooks from within OneNote.

The various folders containing the Notebooks are stored by default in the
"OneNote Notebooks" folder under "My Documents".

I'm not aware of anything which can remove duplicate content in OneNote.
The manual processing to achieve this task is made easier since you can
drag and drop everything from one Page/Section to another quickly.

Hi Erik. Thanks for your reply. I had thought about doing it that way, but
the problem is that my notebooks are such a mess (with so much duplicate
information spread across different files and folders - the result of opening
OneNote under different user accounts) that dragging and dropping will
inevitably overwrite .one files that I want to keep. This is why I'm looking
for a way of merging sections automatically so that, for example, if I have
two sections called (say) Projects, with different info in them, merging will
combine that data into one section and remove any duplicates.

I realise it's a tall order, but oh well...

Cheers
