merging from Access timestamp question

I have a database in Access that has a medium time stamp. No matter what I
do, every time I merge it into Word it gives me a long time stamp and not
the medium one. e.g I want 10:00 AM but instead I get 10:00:00 AM.
Everything place in Access is switch to the medium timestamp - is there
anything else I can do

In Word go to Tools/Options/General and turn on "Confirm conversions
at Open". Then select the Access database again for your data source
and when prompted select the DDE method.
