Merging from Access

I am totally stumped and have definately tried all the
normal and obvious stuff...Please help!
I have two word files that are set-up to be merged upon
opening. They both worked perfectly until Monday (no
major changes to the computers or network). Now, only
computers running Access 2000 can perform these merges
consistently. One computer running Access 2002 can
sometimes merge both, sometimes one, sometimes none at
all. The other computers running Access 2002 cannot merge
the files at all any longer, but get different error
messages (either find data source or cannoy establish DDE
link). Any ideas?
